He outlined a 'baby bonus' plan, whereby the government would pay families up to the equivalent of about $5,000 in U.S. currency over six years for a second child and up to twice that for a third.&amp;nbsp; The money would be earmarked for the children's educational needs."&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;You'll notice that the only part of Singapore's plan that "kind of stood out in King's mind" was the incidental trivia of the newspaper in car windows, not the substantial government social spending that was the actual functional nuts and bolts of the program.&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Jim</dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 14 May 2008 05:00:06 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
