I am an Air Force Vet. we were not in the area with the guys. I had a higher ranking enlisted person make comment- my WAF first Sgt was on it right now. Commander too. He didn't admitt to anything, so it was fully successful, these stories are down right scarey-- too bad women have to be in fear.

Unfortunately this is the price of an all-volunteer military. The raping & sexual abuse of both genders within the ranks is bad PR for recruiting & therefore kept hidden away as in a dirty little secret.

A a former WAC Korean era, I have not experienced these young women's fear of being raped/molested/harmed by our own troops. Our male counterparts were men or honor.
The Army saw to it that the WAC compound was sectioned off in all of my duty stations.

The Naval WAVE compounds were also sectioned off, WAF the same. We were Women of the Army, Women of the Navy, etc. So, my common sense feeling on this, is SEPARATE THE SEXES!! What in the world are those idiots in Washington thinking? Our commander of the Armed Services? One Man's Army, Navy??? Not possible..and women will suffer, are suffering.
God help us all.
