  • Interesting analysis. I'll add one point to consider...while Repub. Dallas County is the fastest growing county in Iowa, liberal Dem. stronghold Johnson County is the second-fastest. Dallas added more than 16,000 since 2000, Johnson gained 14,000 during that time.

Consider this. To win Iowa. Dems need to make inroads in Dallas County. They need to be able to speak to newcomers in places like Waukee and West Des Moines, the fastest growing suburbs. where there are a lot of newcomers to the county--who don't necessarily republican like the majority of the county.

Conversely, to win Iowa, the Repubs need to make inroads in Johnson County. They need to reach newcomers in North Liberty and Coralville, our fastest growing suburbs--where the new suburbanites don't necessarily go along with the liberal vibe the county is known for.

It's going to be tougher for Republicans to get this done than Democrats, but if they want to win, it could be their best chance.
  • Who to vote for? A republicrat or a republicrat. Choices...choices....
