The Iowa Democratic Party has pumped $189,000 in the Marek campaign in the last month. Larry promised a local farm group last Feburary that he would not take their money , so he would not have to vote with them. I guess he changed his mind about that.

I am confused. Larry says he is for the right to work law and against fair share. What has he told the Democrats to get so much money from them?

Re: GOP State House candidate uses Obama messaging in attack ad

I saw the ad on tv too and it turned me not only into a big Larry Marek supporter but a Larry Marek donor as well. I hope others join me in donating to Larry Marek as well to help counteract these negative attacks.

Go to: http://www.larrymarek.org/donate

Re: GOP State House candidate uses Obama messaging in attack ad

Prairie_City_Pat sounds like a sockpuppet for the Klein campaign. I've found this Web page and article online because I've seen the ad on TV and I've been appalled by just how despicable and incredibly stupid it is. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a satire, a joke. It looks and it sounds so cheap, and the bloated, overheated rhetoric about "betrayal" was just so ludicrous.

The "charges" sound like empty-headed cookie-cutter crap from the Republican playbook of the last 40 years, and which right-wing Republicans direct at any Democrat, no matter what the reality.

If you haven't seen the ad, when "liberals" get mentioned, a box with, I believe, the words "Liberal Allies" gets flashed on the screen. As if being a "liberal" were a crime, some form of terrorism. Maybe Jarad Klein should try being a liberal--someone who actually cares about other human beings.

From knowing nothing about this race, seeing the ad instantly turned me into a fervent supporter of Larry Marek, and I pray that Jarad Klein, the perpetrator of this malarkey, FAILS in his run for office.

Re: GOP State House candidate uses Obama messaging in attack ad

Larry Marek is certainly not the change we need and I don't think Jarad Klein's ties with President Bush alters that message. In fact, it reinforces it. At a time, when our country is slouching towards extremist left-wing socialism, when our leaders are associating with domestic terrorists and moral values are steadily diminishing, Jarad Klein represents the change we need back to a free market where government doesn't interfere with health care, where no one questions the bravery of our troops abroad and where there were real family values. We need that type of change. The change that President Bush stands for and the change that Jarad Klein stands for. This is an election between an elitist Des Moines Loebsack-loving liberal in Larry Marek and a traditional conservative in Jarad Klein who has already shown executive experience and leadership as the Chair of the Keokuk County Republican Party. Klein is a fresh face who is the right change for Iowa.

Re: GOP State House candidate uses Obama messaging in attack ad

Kalona Ken has it right over at Bleeding Heartland, http://www.bleedingheartland.com/showDiary.do?d.... It is detestable that a far right wing extremist like Jarad Klein would try to hide behind Barack Obama's coat tails. But it shows when even a far right wing opponent of women's rights, workers' rights, GLBT rights etc has to pretend to be associated with a progressive leader like Barack Obama to have a chance. Hopefully, the voters will see through it and elect Barack Obama as our next President and Larry Marek as a strong Democratic leader in the legislature.

Re: GOP State House candidate uses Obama messaging in attack ad

yeah sure, let's have a bush intern be the "change" we need. ridiculous.

donate to larry marek
http://www.larrymarek.org/donate
